About Independent Web Marketing

Independent Web Marketing started off life as a small “home based” web production and hosting business in 1995 – in those days selling web sites was similar to selling double glazing and having to explain what glass was!

Today we produce, manage, host and generally support over 250 businesses of different type and size, operating in diverse market sectors. Geographically our clients range from businesses based in our own village of Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire, to game reserves in South Africa, property rental in Spain and Canada and golf supply businesses in Australia! We also provide an “own brand” backbone service for an increasing number of web production and hosting firms – firms that could have seen us as “competitors” – who are keen to adopt our philosophy and help their existing clients to become more self-sufficient.

Doing business over the Internet means that we never actually get to meet many of our clients, yet talking to them regularly and understanding what their business does – and how the Internet can make it more efficient – are vital components in our success.

Although we work with a number of organisations on large, bespoke projects - and are always happy to work with more! - our core business philosophy is centred around providing a “bureau style” web support service for small to medium sized businesses and helping them to become self-sufficient. This involves creating an initial web site for a client using a content management system, and then showing the client how to manage their own content so they can be as self-sufficient as they want to be. We are then just here in the background to provide help, support and assistance whenever needed.

Firstly, without obligation, we will talk to you about where you are today and what the Internet could be doing for you now, and what it could be doing for you in the future. We are always interested in helping businesses that can't fulfil their potential via their current ISP or host and if you already have a domain or a web site, we are not frightened to tell you what we think you are doing right…….and what we think you are doing wrong!!

Our intention is to be YOUR bureau style Internet/web department. The good news is that we are not taking up resources at your end when you don't need us, yet we are on the end of a phone and can act immediately when you do. As a rule, the discussions we need to have can be conducted on the phone with both parties able to access the Internet at the same time should the need arise. Nearly everything we do is "on-line", text and pictures can be supplied by post or by e-mail, and on the basis that time is money, we [and we assume you too] would prefer your budget to be spent on creating your web site than us sitting in a car. On the other hand, we believe that being on the end of a phone whenever required is very, very important. Our clients want to be able to talk to a human!
